A blog that I have feeding my RSS reader is The Survival Spot. They cover a wide variety of topics. Their masthead lists several broad range topics like Food Storage, Gardening, Health, Self Defense, Survival, Survival Gear, and Wilderness Survival. They also have a ubiquitous Other listed as well, but hey we all have a other/misc/uncategorized.
The Gardening, Self-Reliance, and Food Storage sections have the most relevance to our topics here at Retro-Revolution, but all of the skills, stories, and links apply to a better life by taking care of yourself. One of the things that the site does well is search the web for articles, videos, and reports of items relating to the self-sustenance, survival and preparedness.
One article from a bit ago in their Self-Reliance section is on roasting coffee. It was a real find. I don’t think they are the originator of the video, but I never would have seen the video if it wasn’t for The Survival Spot. That is one of the great things about aggregation blogs. They give you a different person’s perspective on items from the net that are important. For the longest time I only looked at one or two sites for information related to self-sufficiency. Recently, I’ve learned to start looking in odd places for this well hidden information.
The blog is updated just about daily and an easy read with a variety of media for conveying the information. Consider adding it to your feed reader or just stopping by on a daily basis to review the tid-bits the editors have uncovered for you.
